About the therapy:

The term holistic means that the therapies treat the whole aspects of the client's: physically (body), psychologically (mind) and energetically (soul).
All the therapies are performed manually and the client is required to undress, in order to receive the treatment. The therapist will take a brief consultation in order to plan and tailor the holistic treatment accordingly to the client's needs.

Massage: Swedish massage strokes, such as effleurage, petrissage, and friction strokes are used to relieve muscular tension, pain and joint stiffness. The touches used in massage, aromatherapy and reflexology can have a profound and positive impact on the whole person when administered by a skilled, caring and compassionate therapist.
The benefits: may stimulate blood and lymph flow, reduce or increase the circulation, stimulate the immune system, calm or stimulate the nervous system, relieves muscle tension and pain, alleviates stress and anxiety; it can also encourage the body to heal, balance, and maintain health and wellbeing.

Aromatherapy: The massage strokes are combined with the very pleasant fragrance of essential oils, which are extracted from the leaves, flowers, barks and fruit of plants. These oils are blended in carrier oils such as grape seed or almond. These oils make excellent blends commonly used in massage treatment. The essential oils blends can also be used in baths, vaporisers, or steam therapy.
The essential oils used can have numerous benefits such as anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antibacterial, muscle tonic and pain relief; others can help with stress and depression. The essential oils help to maintain good health and promote a feeling of wellbeing and deep relaxation.

Reflexology supports the whole person by using the feet as a 'map': points on the feet correspond to specific organs and the body system. When touch is applied to the soles of the feet, it sends signals through the nerve reflexes, and can stimulate corresponding parts of the body. As a result it may help support the body through disease, illness and pain; promoting relaxation, detoxification; supports self healing, and helps to maintain health and wellbeing.

About the practitioner

I have been practicing Holistic massage since 2007 when I qualified as an ITEC Holistic practitioner. In the same year I participated in the Guinness World Record for Mass Massage!
In 2008 I went on to further my knowledge and trained in aromatherapy, reflexology and body work at the University of Westminster where I was awarded the BSc in Science and Health in Natural Therapy.

During my training I was very fortunate to practice in the University of Westminster Polyclinic delivering therapies men and women of different ages. I treated each individual with the care and compassion that is needed in order to make them feel respected and appreciated in a cooperative and trustful therapeutic relationship; that in itself is also recognized to have a healing impact on the patients' wellbeing.

I believe it is very important to gain new skills, to be able to offer better care to my clients, and so far, it has been a wonderful and rewarding experience.

Spanish and Portuguese also spoken.
