Homeopathy

Suse Moebius BSc (hons) RSHom

In homeopathic treatment, symptoms are addressed as part of a holistic approach that focuses on
the whole person.

• 81% of surveyed patients reported improvements in their symptoms at the Royal London
Hospital for Integrated Medicine.
• People asked for homeopathy because “other treatment had not helped” and due to “concerns
about or experience of adverse treatment reactions” (study, 2003).

Comparable improvement levels and similar reasons are seen in homeopathic care generally.

This list of 30 conditions people most often seek treatment for in NHS homeopathic hospitals
(study, 2008) reflects homeopathic practice generally:

depression
anxiety
insomnia
headache/migraine
menopausal problems
premenstrual syndrome
allergies
seasonal allergic rhinitis (‘hay fever’)
chronic rhinitis
asthma
eczema
psoriasis
vitiligo
acne
urticaria
ulcerative colitis
osteoarthritis
rheumatoid arthritis
irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS)
fibromyalgia
chronic intractable pain
multiple sclerosis
cancer (supportive care, palliation)
ADHD
epilepsy.

Homeopathy is also wonderful in pregnancy and childbirth. It can help with many other conditions.

In chronic illness, treatment focus is often on side effects of medical care, and supporting general
wellbeing. This support can be very helpful for patients on long-term medication, e.g. in diabetes.
